Diary of a Teacher/Speech Pathologist Observation

Diary of a Teacher/Speech Pathologist Observation

Just when you are thinking that you are safe from observations, the state changes the evaluation requirements and you are again required to have announced and unannounced observations!

Now don’t get me wrong I love what I do. I am proud of the work that I put into planning my lessons BUT working with children and teens can be unpredictable.

I prepared my lesson ensuring that my lesson plan connected with the Common Core Standards, employed best practices that were developmentally appropriate. I thought about the little girl that was new and her need to feel welcome, the little boy who might call out the answers and the child that might need extra communication support.

I prepared my visuals, checked on the technology, spoke to my students.

Here is the story of my observation. Thankfully I have wonderful administrators that allow me to laugh about it. What are the requirements of your state?
