The internet has allowed us as clinicians to have research-based resources at our fingertips but sometimes finding these resources can take a treasure map.
Here are some great resources:
Reading Comprehension:
The nonprofit ReadWorks provides K-12 teachers with what to teach and how to teach it—online, for free, to be shared broadly.
We provide the largest, highest-quality library of curated nonfiction and literary articles in the country, along with reading comprehension and vocabulary lessons, formative assessments, and teacher guidance. Most importantly, everything ReadWorks does is based on proven cognitive science research, not unproven academic theory.
This is a great site that has many resources including grade-level paragraphs.
This is a fabulous subscription based service. It has many many resources including assessments, leveled books and lesson plans.
Writing:
Students with language learning problems do better when you present pictures prompts.
Writing paper: lined-paper for student’s writing
This is an online resource for lined student’s paper.
